▫ Nonsense of a deranged boy.

Yes, I'm so full of shit. (:

24.12.09

China Holiday.

Day 1 – Arrival.
Let’s cut the shit about getting to the airport. ;)
But interesting stuff happened on board.
Surprisingly, met a few new people via the onboard chat system.
AirAsia installed a new interactive program on the plane.
The chat system included along with music, movies and orders.
People I met via the chat system, remember most of them –
Irink – 24C, Joey – 31B, Sharina – 27B, Jyan – 24A, Anis – 27A.
Irink, the nice one. Jyan, the manwhore. Anis, the slut. Sorry, Attai. :P
The rest remained anonymous. All kinda a bunch of numbnuts anyway. :P
But the chat was a bit corny. Jyan and Anis talking ‘bout sex. -.-
And everyone was like, if you do it, can I come and see?
Irink was a nice person, she said something funny though.
“ If you remember to add me then it’s fate ^^. “
Everyone ended up thinking she liked me, ahah.
Had a chance to finish a few chapters of the book Airi lent me.
Good way to waste away the time. :P

The flight took about 4 and a half hours.
So I got there around 10.15. Half an hour earlier than expected.
Many Chinks from ChengDu was on the flight home.
The rest were Malaysians and a few Europeans.
Reached at ChengDu Airport, went through quarantine and checks.
Met Peter, his wife – Vicky and a few new people with them.
Vicky’s brother, Vinny and Andy, her second cousin.
Vicky’s brother took me and my sis in his car.
Toyota Camry, he modified the speed gauge and installed GPS. :O
And the car was so quiet when it didn’t move, although it was on.
Even if it did move, the car engine remained quite silent.
The perfect car, must have cost him a bomb to modify so much.

Went for dinner in some Chinese restaurant.
Had some sorta fungus dinner. The restaurant’s specialty.
Some broth with a variety of wild mushrooms and some meat.
Dad and the rest were talking ‘bout Chinese history. :P
They had Sake along with the food, I had what I initially thought was soya milk.
Turned out to be nut milk, peanut milk. ._.

I somehow felt at home in this restaurant.
Small, cold, yet warmed from the heat of the broth.
I could see my breath form steam as I breathed slowly.
One of the only restaurants open at this time of the night.
1.30am, nothing else was open.
Dad says all restaurants close at 10pm.
Most don’t cook after 8pm. :|
The streets outside empty and completely silent.
The temperature was a freezing temperature of 4*C.
There was seriously a lack of traffic in this town, I thought.
Oops, I’m starting to digress about this. :P
Don’t wanna get all nostalgic about this small little restaurant now. xD

Headed for our hotel next. Didn’t turn out to be a large one. ._.
Until we went inside! It was actually several separated large cabins.
Had an awesome cabin to stay in. HDTV on the wall.
Queen sized beds, heater/cooler, classy bathroom, shieet.
Couldn’t sleep for a short while, but dozed off around 3.

Day 2 – Panda Enclosure.
Woke up around 10 in the morning.
Didn’t take a shower, too cold out here. :\
Peter, Vicky and Vinny – her brother, was late.
So we waited around for a while.
Dad had a smoke, and along with mum they ate chicken feet. -.-
I walked around outside and had my sis take some pics.
Explored the rest of the cabins and the park around.
Liked the cold morning, it was like 8*C.
The rest arrived in about half hour, got ready by then.

The traffic during the daytime increased significantly!
People just drove from one of the six lanes to another without signaling.
There were barely any traffic lights around, and police didn’t seem to care.
And three wheeled motorcycle taxis dominated the place. xD
Well, the new kind of trishaws, that’s what they actually were. :P
If they could afford, trishaw owners converted them to have covers.
And a motorcycle inside the cover. Many hot girls also roamed the streets. *drool* xD

Went for breakfast in some classy Chinese restaurant.
Vinny was smoking the whole time. :P
He never seemed to stop smoking since I got here.
He always had a cigarette in his hand, if he weren’t eating.
Had some interesting local Chinese cuisine.
And this amazing carving made of pumpkin. o.o
Many girls out in this part of town but all taken. -.-
Either by a guy or a “girlfriend”. :P

Headed for the Panda research centre after brunch.
Took a good two hours to reach there.
I dozed off several times in the car due to boredom.
I didn’t grab my MP3, battery low. D:
Was pretty cold at the parking lot there. It was kinda open.
Earlier, before we took off. At the airport, some people gave us some cards.
Four golden panda cards, giving us free access to 11 different tourist sites.
We took about half an hour to register these before we could enter. -.-
At least we saved about 200+ yuan. :O
Ticket prices were about 58 yuan per person.

A little warmer in there, bamboos filled out the whole place.
Didn’t see any pandas until we went really far inwards.
They were so cute! But we couldn’t take pictures of the cubs though. :P
One panda took a shit and piss, because it was cold, steam rose. xD
There were also red pandas. More active than the normal giant pandas.
Giant pandas just sat around eating bamboo leaves.
Red pandas were crawling up and down the trees, non-stop.
Oh yeah! First time Vinny didn’t smoke. :P
It was a “ no-smoking park “ so he couldn’t.
Headed for dinner after the whole walk around the place.
Took another sleepy two hours to get there. -.-

A steamboat dinner, not much to eat but filling enough.
Spicy steamboat, and damn I couldn’t take it. :P
Met Vinny’s wife and kid and some others.
The Chinese have their own version of paper tosai! :O
Still can enjoy my steamy breath when I breath here. xD
If only a week in Malaysia, it would be like this.
We’ll be heading. to our snow cabin tomorow. :\
Hope I won’t freeze to death, we gotta repack everything.
It’s gonna be snowing up there, therefore very cold.
It’s cold enough here with two layers of clothing + my thick jacket.
Probably need my windbreaker tomorrow, wish me luck from dying. ._.

Day 3 – Giant Buddha Love.
Checked outta our hotel, the Forest hotel.
Went for some breakfast, spicy breakfast.
Tasted chinese version of pita bread! :O
After breakfast we headed off for Leshan to our cabin.

But it turns out we weren’t heading there, few more days.
After a few hours Vinny wanted to take a break from the driving.
We stopped at some tea garden, thought we were visiting at first.
Instead, we were only here so Vinny could take a piss. :P
Reached Leshan after another hour or so.

Had to take a ferry ride to view the famous Giant Buddha.
Loved the air around here, colder than ChengDu.
Yet I loved how it blew in my face and I didn’t feel cold for some reason.
Probably becoming a cold blooded freak or something. Xd
Some very rude people were on board.
F*ckers were pushing me around, I almost beat up one.
Success at taking a photo of someone “blowing” the Buddha.
If you catch my heavy drift. Revenge! ;)

Tourist guides were telling of a sleeping Buddha.
The mountains formed a shape of a man lying down.
It did seem that way but it had some flaws.
Firstly, there was a tree growing out of where it was to be his forehead.
What’s that supposed to be? A satellite head extension?
And there was a tower sticking out from the middle mountain.
OMFG! Sleeping Buddha’s got a boner!
Wanted so badly to ask the tourist guide about that one.
But decided it would sound kinda rude. :P

Stopped by the entrance of the place later to take some pictures.
Really intricate carvings done into the archway.
After taking some pictures we headed for our next temp hotel.
It turned out to be a bunch of houses bought over by a company.
It used to be a neighborhood! Meanies! D:
Some people still lived in those houses, rest were part of the hotels.
They seemed more like a home with rental rooms.
Shabby hotel room service though. The room stank.
Heater barely works, furniture was really dirty.

Went for dinner at a nearby hawker centre later.
Really fun walking around the place, Chinese feelings. :P
Went halfway into the place, then we picked a restaurant.
Ordered another batch of a spicy dinner again. -.-
I can’t take this shit no more. xD
Ate mudskippers, duck intestines, some weird fish and other stuff.
Tried my first sake! xD
The taste sort of just went straight up into my tongue.
I think Vicky was drunk because she was kinda quiet.
And she kept smiling while looking around at people.

Met some hooker lady when I went to the bathroom. :\
She just gave me a head to toe scan and turned away.
She and some other girl went into the toilet for a short while.
Then came out, the toilet stank, no wonder they came out. xD
She was sitting in the opposite table when I came out.
With a whole group of people getting drunk.
On the floor around them were cigarette butts, beer bottles and rubbish.
Some old lady came around bugging us to buy flowers.
She stayed for quite a while before giving up and moving on.
Many more people shoo-ed her away except one couple.
How sweet of the boyfriend to buy her some flowers. x)
Went back to the hotel later, spotted a number of clubs and bars outside.

Spent my night reading some more of P.S I Love You.
I’ve went far Airi! Chapter 35 from 10 in 3 days each about 1 hour reading time.
I hope you’re proud of me loving the book. x)
Watched some TV, had some chips, noodles and sake before I slept.

Day 4 – Welcome to the Jungle.
Dad says we’re only going to that snow cabin tomorow.
I think we’ve been kept waiting for a while now. -.-
Another spicy breakfast nearby our hotel after we checked out.
Vicky picked some sort of noodles for me.
Turned out to be made of sweet potato.
Tasted really good with the chopped beef, but spicy as hell.
Today, we were going up to Leshan’s golden summit.

Went first to some Buddha thing? I don’t know what it is.
Some sort of park about Buddhist stuff? Nice view there though.
A nice waterfall was nearby us, and this giant temple.
In the middle of it, was some red jewel with a circular stone within.
Many Buddhist carvings were carved into the cliff walls.
There were many connected temples which we looked around.
All filled with Buddhist artifacts and other stuff. Mostly carvings though.

After that we went to yet another temple.
This one was further up the hill, drove up there.
Quite large, and this was an actual temple. xD
All with Buddhist/Taoist statues of gods and such.
Of course, the usual joss sticks filled most of the spaces in between.
And some blocks of wood always seemed to get in my way.
They were there in every building you try to enter.

Saw some really funnily translated signs and stuff around.
Poor Chinese people who attempt to make tourists understand. :P
There was this dark and empty building which I entered.
Thought was some museum for the stuff.
It was instead just some sorta hotel or something. o.o

After we came out, we had lunch by Vinny’s van.
There weren’t many restaurants in this area.
Vicky loves chicken feet. :P
She seemed to be eating one after another of it.
After our brief lunch consisting of fruits and snacks, we headed up.
Next destination was a mountainous park.
Of course, all the way up in the mountains, and it was a monkey habitat.
The signboard to it said, natural place for monkeys.
It crossed my mind that it was some sort of sick prank,
And by what the sign said, I presumed we were the monkeys. xD

It was pretty high up the mountain, nearing the golden summit.
Really nice view of the valley below from here, although scary.
The thought of falling all the way down made me shudder.
The cold also made me shudder, but I got used to it shortly after.
Went on several wooden bridges, the kind suspended only by ropes.
My fear of walking on one of those as a kid was gone. :P
In fact, I joined Vicky and Vinny to shake and sway the bridge. xD
Mum and Dad of course didn’t like it, chicken! :P
The water running on the side of where we walk looked so clear.
I wish I could just push someone into and she would drag me in. :P
There were some pretty awesome landscapes around this place.
The view of nature from this place was simply beautiful.
But there was this corny sign board, which pointed out
to a structure in the trees on the other side.
It said the trees somewhat formed an image of Donald Duck.
I didn’t see anything and dismissed the stupid thing. -.-

Somewhere along the way, we had to choose one of two paths.
One, a nice safe bridge over the cliff side, though unconnected to the other.
And the other, a climb down the cliff to cross a ford over a river,
You had to cross by literal stepping stones, the path was by the riverside.
Took the riverside path, it was a good change from safe things all the way.
Plus, the other bridge turned out to lead to a dead end.
But all around there were these people, who would ask you if you want a lift.
And by that, they mean carrying you up the hill.
I mean, it’s a kind offer, but there were so many of them begging us.
I yelled at one of them to f*ck off when he pissed me off.
The park never seemed to end, we were walking non-stop for quite a while.
We took some breaks, but Vicky was so energetic. :\
She decided to go ahead of us and would meet us later if any of us passed by.

Bought a bamboo walking stick to carry around with me.
Also to bring home to put somewhere at home. xD
Passed some interesting carvings that were carved into the mountain walls.
There was also a place where you could drink the fresh spring water too!
Had to cross this lousily built wooden bridge.
It looked only half complete and nails were sticking out of it. -.-
Some more of those people carrier guys bothered me while I was resting.
I jabbed him in the nuts with the stick to make him go away.

Finally reached the monkey habitat after three hours of walking up the mountain.
Wasn’t worth it at all, the place sucked. -.-
The monkeys climb on almost everyone if not for the guides.
Their job was the scare away the monkeys with their sticks.
Some faggot was blocking my way because he wanted to take photos. -.-
One of the monkeys in there pounced on mum. xD
And Dad was pick-pocketed by the monkeys.
They stole his camera batteries. :P
The monkey habitat was only one small round around a river below.
That was it, not worth the hike at all, at least I got some exercise! x)
Didn’t see Vicky anywhere, so she probably must have went ahead.
Ran to keep up with the little monkeys, my sister and Vinny’s daughter.
I went past everyone for quite a distance and left them in the dust.

Met Vicky after a short while later, she laughed when she saw me alone.
She complimented me for actually trying to keep up with her.
And she told me to take a rest with her at some nearby seats to wait for the rest.
When they all arrived, Vicky and Peter decided to head off first.
I sat around for a few minutes then ran after them, I trailed a little behind them.
Had to, crowds of people blocked my way but I tried to keep them in sight.

The exit to this stupid park was the path I came in from. -.-
So I had to go all the way back to the entrance to get outta here.
I saw Vicky and Peter act romantically ahead. xD
He carried her on his back and let her down after a while.
And they started holding hands, go couple! (?) xD
They stopped at a restaurant eventually and they noticed me behind.

Played with a tied-up poor little doggy. D:
The owners of the restaurant were probably his owners.
I let the little critter nibble on my stick. Cute little fella.
It seemed to be having quite some fun trying to kill the stick. xD
Waited for quite a while for everyone else, took half an hour.
They actually took a break on the way here, gee. -.-
Vicky was getting really impatient. :P
She and Peter stormed off ahead of us. I tried to keep up as usual.
Then this girl and some older women, probably her aunts, got in my way.
She was explaining to them about the place, what a little know-it-all.

But then she turned around and my heart stopped. :P
Seriously! She was so pretty. I just was stunned for a second. ._.
I decided to let her move ahead of me, and she smiled and moved onwards.
There’s a lot of cute girls here but she was so pretty, and single. xD
Anyway, I finally caught a glimpse of Peter and Vicky.
Tried to keep up with them, followed them a little out of the exit.
Saw them walking somewhere and followed, they went up this alley.

Saw a signboard saying tea, so I supposed they were gonna
Have some tea while waiting for everyone else to keep up.
They didn’t know I was following behind them for quite a while.
I stopped following them and waited for the others to tell them where they were.
I pointed up the alley and walked up the stairs then
 I saw a signboard, “  HOTEL. “
So I was like, “ Oh. >.> “ If you’re also thinking what I’m thinking. :P
But they were just checking out a hotel for us. x)
Small, budget hotel, but cheaper than yesterday’s.
Yesterday’s rate was 200RMB per night, this was one 100+ RMB per night.
This place was slightly better, no HDTV though.
Lack of good channels, kinda dirty, many squat toilets. >.<
Took one with an actual toilet seat, thank God. :P

Went down to the 1st floor to have some dinner with the group.
Just ate some fried rice with loads of veggies.
That’s pretty much all I eat around here because so much is spicy.
Hopefully we’re finally leaving for our winter cabin tomorrow.
Can’t wait for it! Although, a steep cable car ride makes me doubt if I want to. xD

Day 5 – Up the golden summit.
Pretty abruptly woken up this morning. -.-
Mum was turning on most of the lights to wake us up.
I got up lazily out of bed after another few minutes of noises.
Had a bloody lousy breakfast –
Porridge, fermented tofu, other spicy shit again.

So today, we were gonna be seeing snow. Whoopee. :P
Went up higher Mt. Emei, yesterday’s mountain too.
Took about a half hour to get just that little higher.
Mist covered pretty much everything we could see ahead.
Forcing Vinny to slow down a little, but not much. :P
Finally reached this bus station, bloody cold out here.
I actually wore my windbreaker for the first time in this trip. >.<
But I took it off shortly after, I got used to this.

Got on the wrong bus after buying tickets. :P
So we switched to the right one, and after it filled up, off we went.
After 10 minutes of driving, the driver got out to put chains on the tires.
This was to make sure the bus wouldn’t slip on ice.
After another few minutes, we could see more and more snow.
The bus stopped once due to a engine malfunction.
But it only took a short while to get it fixed with.
After another hour, we stopped at some bus terminal.
Everyone got off and we had to put spikes on our shoes.
So we wouldn’t slip on the melted snow on the stairs.

After a slow and nervous ascent up the first flight,
I could see the winter wonderland ahead of us.
It was simply beautiful, I wish I could drop into it. :P
Had to wear my scarf, neck got a little cold. :P
The slowly walked up the stairs and hiked up slopes.
It was very tiring with the spikes under our shoes.
If we weren’t stepping on snow, they would hurt our feet. D:
The view downhill was amazing! All covered by mist! xD
Took us forever to reach to the cable car station.
Just like in the monkey habitat, this was a stupid, useless hike.
And I was lugging around my stupid windbreaker with me.
I didn’t even need the stupid thing and I’m carrying it. -.-
Speaking of monkeys, we passed by macaques on the way up!
Played with some snow here and there, had to enjoy. xD
I was dead tired by the time we reached the cable cars.
And up here, visibility was so poor, you couldn’t
See a tree that was just a few metres in front of you.

And there was a road that led up here. -.-
So the hike was indeed useless, and I almost slipped so many times.
We gathered at the cable car station to rest and eat.
As usual, Vicky was the first to reach. :\
Some white guy was at the station, his laugh announced his presence.
A slow, deep, haughty laugh. :P
Anyway, after a few minutes rest, we took the cable car.
It was in fact a large one, not the small variety.
Dad said this even scares him, well not me! >:D
The view up here is spectacular! Snow was everywhere.
And we got so high that we were above the clouds!
The golden summit was a long way to go. :O

I stepped out of the cable car without my spikes.
Breathed some fresh air and thought to myself about it.
I took a step on the stairs, and I slipped all the way down. -.-
I could barely stand up after the fall. My booty hurts. D:
After sitting down for a minute or so, I decided to slowly walk.
I had to keep up with Vicky. So I took each step carefully.
The ice and snow up has melted a little, the sun shines up here.
Unlike down below at the lower parts, no sun at all. -.-
It’s simply amazing up here, the sun and snow makes different tones.
Mixed together as one - the perfect view of the world.

I just had to do something with the snow.
So I balled up some of it and threw some at the group. :P
Also, I kicked a tree, and snow from the branches rained down.
Vinny caught me off guard under one of the trees, and with
A right blow to one of the branches, I was covered in snow. x)
His wife helped me put on some spikes so as to not to slip again.
After a few more flight of stairs, we were almost there.
We could see our “golden summit”- another giant Buddha.
After so many more steps, we finally got up there. :P
And my feet hurt from the pain of the spikes. -.-

The golden summit wasn’t the statue after all.
There were more steps, and it was a stupid temple. -.-
Anyway, I was so tired up there. I had to rest.
When I came down nearby the statue, I dropped in the heap of snow.
The way down was the way we came up. So yeah. -.-
Took the cable cars down, Vicky went waaay ahead. :P
Passed by a little chipmunk on the way there. x)
And another tiring hike downhill, rather slippery.
The snow has all melted and you just might slip on the ice.

Another hour back to the terminal by the bus.
It was wet down here, it rained while we were up there. :O
Awesome! There were no clouds where we were earlier so it didn’t rain!
Vinny drove us back to Chengdu and it took quite a while.
I dozed off a few times when my music on my MP3 switched to slower songs.
However, Vinny didn’t seem to get tired. Must be those cigarettes. :P

We arrived at a finally decent, four star hotel.
I wonder what’s in store for me tomorrow, eh.

Day 7 – Sichuan Opera House.
Woke up abruptly again. -.-
Dad called over to my room to wake us up.
They went down for breakfast while I stayed in the room.
Thank God, I didn’t go down. Mum said it tasted bad.
Preserved veggies, porridge, spicy shit. xD
It gave her a stomach ache and she had to stay at the hotel. -.-

The rest of us went out for lunch at 12.
I didn’t eat though, had noodles just before we left.
Today was some Chinese autumn(?)festival.
So there was a special dish to eat, didn’t look good.
Intestines, meat with skin, fermented tofu. *pukes*
Met Andy again after not seeing him since the first day.
He only joined us for lunch though.

After lunch we went to the city to look around.
Ended up in a city square, designed in an oldern Chinese way.
It was supposed to be a refurbished old town. :\
So as predicted, you could find folky stuff here.
They sold many local Chinese items around here.
Not surprisingly, there’s a Starbucks even here. xD
Saw some pretty interesting things around the place.
Caligraphy brushes, blow-up candy, paper cuttings, rice engravement and others.
Looked around for a souvenir, only bought 3, I was short of cash.
There was this crossbow range I tried out, still have the touch. :P
Although, my expertise last time was in long bows.
And so it was, after about 10 direct hits, I started missing the target. :\
Maybe I was cocking the crossbow too slowly.

There’s so many hot and cute girls around here. :P
Most of them taken though, unsurprisingly. >.>
Oh, don’t worry. Got hot guys for the chicks too. ;)
Went into a bar with Vinny, Vicky and Peter.
Pretty nice bar this is, Lotus Palace.
Vinny never drank Guinness before. :P
I was surprised to see Made in Malaysia on the bottles here.
There was this funny signboard, cherish life apart from drugs. Wtf?
Went around to walk for a bit, sis came along.
Decided to test my luck on the crossbows again.
I only hit the bullseye 2/10. -.-
Let sis have the other 10 shots, and the guy gave her free five shots. -.-

I took a picture of this super hot girl I kept seeing around.
I passed by her and her friend so many times out here.
But I think she noticed, because for a short while, she kept looking. :P
Went off for the Opera House after some food.
Show only starts at 8, so we went to check out jewelry. -.-
Saw a really nice hotel just opposite, looks awesome. x)

Saw some pretty interesting shows in the Opera house.
Lasted for about an hour and a half, after it the show we headed home.
Hope I don’t have to wake up early tomorrow morning.
It’s 2AM right now, and I’m typing this out. :O

Day 8 – Theme Park.
Woke up late and missed breakfast again. :P
Took my time since everyone was just talking.
Lazily crawled out of bed to change and get dressed.
Peter picked up us in Vinny’s van.
Today we’re going to Vinny’s dad’s factory.
Took only a short 10 minute drive to get there.

Really huge factory, I’d say.
They have one warehouse for each specific duty.
Another two buildings including an apartment and office on the grounds too.
In the middle, a huge farm for animals and crop. O.o
The staff lived in those apartments, so no excuse to be late. xD
Vinny’s dad worked up some pretty neat designs up in the showroom.
He took us for a tour around the warehouses. Even some of the process.
One was compressing sawdust for reuse. Basically,
Sawdust was collected and put into a machine and recycled as materials.
Then there was how they make the wood look good, that dark tone.
It’s actually a designed paper, delicately glued onto the wooden boards. :O

Vicky led us to the back of the apartments, rabbits were reared there.
There were so many of them, almost 30 possibly more. :\
No, they weren’t pets of the staff, they were food. D:
After some more little chit-chat we were off to the theme park.
Andy drove us in Vinny’s van this time.
I hate theme parks. :\

The rides looked pretty cool though. But I had a real bore.
Tried going on one of them and had no clue what was going on. :\
We spent most of the time walking around the place.
I bought a Ne-Yo style hat, whatever you call it. xD
There was an arcade inside, so everyone went in for a go.
Sis and Vicky played some sort of betting game thing.
My sis won like 13 coins in one shot and kept going.

I tried archery, epic fail at the beginning. >.>
I missed 5 shots. Used left hand to hold the bow, opposite for arrows.
I shot way off the targets, in fact I was close to hitting the other ones.
I tried vice versa, and my accuracy improved loads. :D
Almost hit the bullseye once, the rest were pretty close as well.

Then played House of the dead 3. xD
Could go up only to the 2nd chapter with 1 credit. :P
I liked the feel of the gun, it felt more realistic than clicking. xD
But it looked more like a G3 with a pump rather than a shotgun.
Went for a short walk around, place was closing already.
There were some couples outside posing for marriage photos.
Photographed by what seemed to be professionals.
I’d want some pictures like that next time. :P

I’m too lazy to type out the rest.. D:
Let’s just let the pictures on facebook fill you in. ;)
